ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A tradition spanning more than 65 years returned to St. Louis area streets Thursday as 500 volunteers participated in Old Newsboys Day.

Volunteers stood at street corners across the region, handing out newspapers and collecting donations for children’s charities. The annual campaign connects multiple local youth organizations with community support.

This year’s campaign was dedicated to photographer Bill Greenblatt, who recently passed away.

Old Newsboys Day has collected millions of dollars for children’s charities throughout its history. Donations can still be made through the Old Newsboys Day website for those who missed the street corner collections.
