NEW RUSSIA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WOIO) - The owner of about 500 acres of land near the Lorain County Airport is asking for a zoning change.

The Lorain County Planning Commission had to take a vote Thursday. Deciding if the now land zoned as agricultural could be industrial and not cause zoning issues. With only one no, the vote passed.

But some people in New Russia Township aren’t happy about the decision. They say there’s not enough information for a choice to be made.

“You can get the application online,” said resident, Andrew Barlow. “It says nothing about what it’s going to be, it says nothing about what is coming”.

Leading to rumors circling around town about a potential Mega Site being built. Invoking fear in some of the people who live nearby.
