New Delhi: A fire at the main venue of the UN COP30 Climate Summit in Belem, Brazil, broke out which led to chaos on Thursday afternoon, forcing thousands of delegates, officials and visitors to move out for safety. At least 13 people suffered smoke inhalation and were treated on site.
The fire started around 2 pm inside the Blue Zone, the heavily secured area where key meetings, negotiations, country pavilions, media rooms and offices of world leaders are located. This area also includes the main plenary hall.
Fire was controlled under six minutes
