Marked every year on 21 November after a United Nations resolution in 1996, the day recognises TV’s role in shaping public awareness and supporting information flow across the globe. In India, the observance is steered by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Prasar Bharati, with Doordarshan and All India Radio conducting public outreach to highlight television’s reach across more than 230 million homes.
