On Wednesday morning, a constable banged on the front door, a sign that eviction day had arrived on Mohawk Road in Burlington, Massachusetts.

There was nobody inside the home, but the “professional tenants” who had occupied the property for nearly two years left a debris field behind.

Trash, old food and dirty dishes littered the floors and counters of the home. An inspection of the property revealed damage like a large hole in the hallway wall.

Bryan Coombes and his wife, Nicole Inserra, moved into property in December 2023 and immediately stopped paying the rent.
