MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A German cellist highly regarded for his technical mastery, profound musicality and insatiable artistic curiosity will be performing this weekend with the Madison Symphony Orchestra.

Alban Gerhardt joined WMTV on Thursday and said he is looking forward to the concerts.

He said he prefers to play with eyes closed, allowing him to focus on performing.

“I’m very much in the moment and in the music,” said Gerhardt.
