LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - The Lexington Rescue Mission will serve its 25th annual Thanksgiving dinner next week, expecting to feed more than 300 people.
The nonprofit will open its doors on Wednesday, Nov. 26, from 4 to 6 p.m. for what many attendees consider their only family Thanksgiving dinner.
The Lexington Rescue Mission has been collecting monetary donations throughout the year to buy food in bulk for this event. Executive Director Laura Carr said it is free and available to anyone who needs a place to go for the holidays.
“We try to prepare enough food that there’s no way that anybody who comes is going to go away hungry,” said Carr.
