The Newnan City Council will host two public hearings at its meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 25, for development projects on Jefferson Street and McIntosh Parkway.

BrightSky Residential, a California-based company providing “the highest quality in rental housing,” according to its website, is requesting that a 20.73-acre property at 459 Jefferson St. be rezoned from General Commercial District to Residential Multiple Family Dwelling – Higher Density District.

The company is proposing to develop a 140-unit townhouse community on the property. The rentals will range from $2,250 to $2,450 a month, according to the company’s proposal.

The units would be built in duplex and triplex buildings, with 26 duplex units and 114 triplex units. The townhomes would have two-car garages and space for two cars
