A school bus in Laval struck and killed a 13-year-old girl Thursday evening.

The incident occurred in the afternoon around 5:40 p.m. at the intersection of Ave. de la Volière and Blvd. des Rossignols in the Ste-Rose district, Laval police reported.

The bus driver was also transported to hospital to be treated for shock.

The investigation continued through the evening, with a security perimeter remaining in place.

So far, the incident did not appear to be criminal.
