Dry weather will be sticking around New Jersey Thursday night and much of the day on Friday before a weak frontal system arrives, bringing light rain late Friday into Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service says the rain will begin Friday evening, with chances increasing after midnight Friday and early Saturday morning.

Rainfall amounts will be modest, ranging from a few hundredths of an inch to just under a quarter inch at most, the weather service said. Southern New Jersey has the highest probability of seeing measurable rain, while northern areas may see only spotty showers.

The showers should clear from west to east between late Saturday morning and early afternoon.
