STEPHENS COUNTY, Ga. —

A man on the run from charges stemming in Michigan has been caught by authorities in Oconee County, South Carolina.

Around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, investigators with the Stephens County Sheriff's Office assisted the U.S. Marshals Service with the arrest of man wanted out of Michigan, who was hiding in Toccoa, Georgia.

The Stephens County Sheriff's Office said 35-year-old Kyle Alband of Detroit was wanted by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear in court on original charges of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The U.S. Marshals Service requested assistance in finding Alband after he fled Michigan and traveled through several states before ending up in Stephens County.
