The sizzle, the aroma, and the race against the clock set the stage for a culinary showdown, as high school chefs from across the Central Coast converged at Arroyo Grande High School Saturday for the Chopped competition.

Students from Pioneer Valley High School, Mark Richardson CTE Center, Paso Robles, Atascadero and Arroyo Grande brought sharp knives, sharper instincts, and a passion for food to the high-energy cook-off.

Inspired by the hit TV show Chopped, teams opened their mystery basket to reveal fresh vegetables donated by Talley Farms and boneless chicken breasts— simple ingredients that demanded extraordinary creativity.
