Construction workers near Shriners Children’s Hospital and UC Davis Medical Center are lifting spirits with a playful “Where’s Waldo?” display. As major construction continues in East Sacramento through 2030, crews from McCarthy Building Companies placed a life-size Waldo figure around the site for patients to spot from their windows. The company delivered books and flyers to both hospitals so everyone can join in. Safety manager Anmol Gill says the project reflects McCarthy’s commitment to supporting the communities they work in, adding that the goal is to bring joy to patients during their healing process. Waldo will continue making appearances even as construction walls go up.
