How did appellate court rule in North Port contraction case?

The Florida Second District Court of Appeal, in a Nov. 19 ruling, essentially ended a five-plus year legal effort by some Wellen Park residents to separate from the city of North Port.

In the ruling, the three-judge panel of Stevan Northcutt, Nelly Khouzam and Robert Morris denied a petition from the West Villagers for Responsible Government, asking the court to reconsider its May 3, 2024 ruling in favor of the city.
