The Ludhiana police Thursday claimed to have busted a “gangster-terror module”, allegedly backed by Pakistan’s spy agency ISI and “with links to gangster Lawrence Bishnoi”, as it arrested two accused following an exchange of fire in which the duo suffered gunshot wounds.
One of the accused suffered critical injuries in the shootout in Ladhowal area, they said.
Ludhiana Police Commissioner Swapan Sharma said on being intercepted, the accused opened fire, following which police retaliated. Two Chinese 86P hand grenades, five pistols and more than 40 rounds of cartridges were recovered from seized from them.
