WATERTOWN — Just because the Watertown High School football team didn't repeat as the state Class 11AA champion doesn't mean the 2025 season was a forgettable one.

The Arrows (5-5) overcame a slow start to win five of their final six regular-season games before allowing two touchdowns in the final 5 1/2 minutes of a season-ending 28-21 loss at Sturgis in the Class 11AA playoff quarterfinals.

The start and the finish of the season wasn't what Watertown wanted, but the Arrows pieced together some pretty good moments in their first season at the newly-renovated Allen Mitchell Athletic Complex. Watertown spent the previous 84 years playing its home games at Watertown Stadium, which opened in 1941.
