Last week, for the first time since the season started, the Komets got to skate at Memorial Coliseum.
While the Coliseum will be the home arena of the Komets for a 74th season, the ice they’ll be skating on and the boards they’ll be playing within are brand new.
Breaking in the new rink is great. So is getting newer players acclimated to playing in the over 10,000-seat Coliseum as opposed to the smaller confines of the PSM Icehouse. But more than anything, it means a return to normal.
“We love the Icehouse here and how they treat us, but just being able to be at home and being in your locker room all the time and have everything at your disposal for an everyday purpose,” Komets coach Jesse Kallechy said. “It’s awesome being back at the Coliseum.
