BLO giving information about SIR form in Puducherry,

The Supreme Court will today hear the petition filed by the Kerala government against SIR. Local body elections are scheduled to be held in Kerala in the second week of December. Therefore, the state government had filed a petition seeking to postpone the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.

In the petition, the Kerala government had stated that due to the shortage of staff, conducting SIR along with the elections is increasing difficulties. When constitutional elections are underway, unnecessarily rushing and compromising the quality of verification is against the democratic right to vote.
