A Hudson County man was sentenced Wednesday to 30 years in state prison in connection with the death of a woman in 2020.
Erick Acosta, 37, of Bayonne previously pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter, according to a statement from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office.
Bayonne police responded to a home on Lord Avenue shortly before 1 p.m. on October 9, 2020, for a welfare check, the office.
Crystal Ojeda, 40, of Bayonne, was pronounced dead at around 1:55 p.m., investigators said.
The regional medical examiner’s office determined Ojeda died from blunt force trauma to the head and body and her death was ruled a homicide.
