The City of Fruita has approved a $15,000 donation to Food Bank of the Rockies to help support Fruita residents experiencing food insecurity.

The funding was unanimously approved by the Fruita City Council during its regular meeting on November 18.

The donation comes at a meaningful time of year, as the holiday season approaches and demand for food assistance often increases, placing additional strain on families as well as the nonprofits that serve them. This contribution will help ensure Food Bank of the Rockies can continue responding to local needs, a news release said.
