An elderly man died after being run over by a construction vehicle at a National Highway work site in Maddadka, Belthangady, on Thursday.

The deceased is reported to be a resident of Bangady.

The incident occurred when the man was walking through the area where highway construction work was underway. The driver of a construction machine allegedly failed to notice him and drove the vehicle forward, causing the elderly man to come under the vehicle and die on the spot.

Belthangady police visited the location and conducted an inspection.
