A 29-year-old woman died after a four-vehicle, chain-reaction crash on the H-3 Freeway Thursday, according to the Honolulu Police Department.
At about 5:36 p.m., the woman was driving west on H-3 when her vehicle was rear-ended by a vehicle driven by a 19-year-old man, according to HPD’s Traffic Division. The 29-year-old driver’s car then rear-ended a vehicle driven by a 58-year-old man, who crashed into a vehicle driven by a 31-year-old man, HPD said.
Honolulu Emergency Medical Services personnel treated the 29-year-old woman and took her in critical condition to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The woman was not wearing a seat belt at the time, police said.
EMS said paramedics also evaluated two other patients at the scene but they declined transport.
