On Saturday morning at Curry College in Milton, the two best boys soccer teams in Division V — No. 1 Boston International and No. 2 Hopedale Jr./Sr — will fittingly clash for the ultimate prize, one that neither program has ever captured before.
Saturday will mark the first time either program has appeared in a state championship game.
Boston International (19-1-2) has run roughshod over their opponents all season, but particularly under the bright lights of the state tournament. The Lions have reached the state title game by out-scoring teams 24-4 in four games.
They did face adversity in their Final Four matchup against Brighton, falling behind twice before ultimately pulling out a win in the second half. Senior Jerry Registe scored the game-winning goal to send the Lions to the final
