Heavy snowfall is continuing to cause problems on the roads in North Yorkshire - a day after some rural coastal communities recorded a whopping 14 inches of snow.
The conditions have proven challenging for drivers undertaking essential journeys across the North York Moors and major coastal routes to towns such as Whitby and Scarborough, with several 'just passable' roads, particularly the A169 and A171.
Traffic management INRIX reports: "The A169 in both directions just passable due to snow from A170 Hungate (Pickering) to A171 Guisborough Road (Briggswath)."
A yellow warning for snow and ice is currently in effect along the Yorkshire coast and other parts of Yorkshire today, with residents being urged to be cautious of icy conditions. A hotel in Whitby recorded a staggering 14 in
