BRUNSWICK, Ohio -- Scouting America’s Troop 7407 has its first two Eagles -- with more waiting in the wings.
These young women were among the first to join what was once called Boy Scouts and have excelled, just as their male counterparts have done.
Isabella Serna was inducted into the Eagle Scout ranks at Camp Manitoc in Peninsula in mid-October, followed by fellow troop member Mikayla Karla at the end of the month at St. Collette Catholic Church in Brunswick.
Isabella brings an unusual twist to the story, as she has been a longtime Girl Scout and is also receiving the highest award in that organization: the Gold Award.
Strongsville VFW Post 3345 was the beneficiary of her Eagle Scout project, in honor of her maternal grandfather who died a year ago and was a member of that VFW post.
