Laurel Sentences

Carrie Jones, 46, was given a life sentence by a Cedar County judge Thursday for her role in the 2022 murders of four people in Laurel.

In August, she was convicted of first-degree murder on top of tampering and accessory charges. Prosecutors say her murder charge stems from encouraging her husband Jason to carry out the killing at one of the two homes. She also helped Jason with his injuries following the murder and helped conceal evidence.
