The latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) show there were more than 3.8 million people in claim for Personal Independence Payment (PIP) at the end of July. This is an increase of 2 per cent on the number of claimants recorded at the end of April, with 37 per cent of the total now in receipt of the highest level of payment awards.
A successful claim for PIP is worth between £29.20 and £187.45 per week, with payments usually issued every four weeks which amounts to awards of between £116.80 and £749.80.
It’s important to be aware that Adult Disability Payment (ADP) has now replaced PIP for new and existing claimants in Scotland. New figures from Social Security Scotland show that at the end of July, some 484,055 people were in receipt of ADP
