OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Here’s a list of activities and events coming up in the Omaha metro this weekend.

Council Bluffs’ top holiday event, Winterfest at Bayliss Park , is happening on Friday night. Featured at the free event will be a tree-lighting ceremony, festive music, and performances. You can jump in line for photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus and ride on a horse-drawn carriage. Come and support local artists and vendors in a holiday shopping market. Kids are invited to write letters to Santa, ride on the train, and visit pets at a mobile petting zoo. It will go from 6-8 p.m. .

The 18th Annual Tree Lighting & Holiday Parade at Shadow Lake Towne Center is happening this weekend. There is a new date this year, with the event happening the before Thanksgiving on Nov. 22. Santa and
