Canadian pop singer Shawn Desman has been a professional musician since age nine.
He first performed under his given name, Shawn Fernandes, and sang in Portuguese. He was featured as a dancer in the Boomtang Boys video for the song Squeeze Toy in 1998, which made him decide to move into pop music. After inking a deal with BMG Music Canada, he changed his stage name to Shawn Desman and released his self-titled debut in 2002. It established him as a chart-topping artist.
He moved to Universal Music Canada for his third album, 2010’s Fresh. The release proved to be another smash hit for the artist, with one platinum- and two gold-selling singles. Having proven his ability to write hits, Desman entered into production work and established himself with releases by Nick Carter, Kreesha Turne
