Georgia basketball opened the season by winning all five games at home to the tune of a 38.5 average margin of victory.

The schedule was generous with only one high-major opponent.

Now, the Bulldogs (5-0) will get two in 40-plus hours in the Shriners Children’s Charleston Classic.

The Bulldogs play Xavier (3-2) at 9 p.m. on Friday Nov. 21 and either Clemson (4-1) or West Virginia (5-0) on Sunday afternoon at TD Arena.

“It will be a huge test,” junior forward Dylan James said after an 87-57 win over Florida A&M on Monday. “The coach was just telling us about we’ve got to be mentally prepared.”

Mike White was Florida’s coach when it beat a No. 18 Xavier 70-65 to win the Charleston Classic in November of 2019.
