ST. LOUIS — A man is dead after he was shot by police inside St. Louis Lambert International Airport's Terminal 1 early Friday morning.
Police were doing routine security checks at about 1:05 a.m. when they found a man holding a knife, according to the St. Louis County Police Department. Officers allegedly told the man to drop the knife, and when he refused, they used a stun gun on the man.
The man kept advancing, and that's when police shot and killed him, a department spokesperson said at a news conference after the shooting.
No other injuries have been reported.
The department said the STL Airport police officers involved in the incident have been with the force for six months and one year, respectively, and both had prior law enforcement experience.
