A Framingham man was charged with leaving the scene of personal injury after he allegedly struck and killed a bicyclist on Wednesday, officials said.
Paulo Castro, 69, fled the scene but was later arrested by Framingham police, Middlesex District Attorney Marian T. Ryan’s office said in a statement.
He is due to be arraigned on Thursday at Framingham District Court.
At 9:50 a.m., police responded to a report of a bicyclist struck in the area of Gorman Road and Concord Street, the statement said.
The vehicle that struck the victim left the scene, prosecutors said.
The victim was a 43-year-old Framingham man who was transported a hospital, but died from his injuries, officials said.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
The crash remains under investigation.
