Richard Madeley has opened up about the touching reason why he sleeps in a separate bedroom to Judy Finnigan. The 69-year-old Good Morning Britain star rose to fame with Judy in the 1980s as the pair fronted ITV's This Morning before going on to host their own programme, Richard and Judy, on Channel 4.

The duo originally met in 1982, while they were married to other people, but their relationship blossomed and 39 years ago today (November 21) when they walked down the aisle in Manchester . The couple are happy parents to Jack and Chloe Madeley, while Richard is stepfather to Judy's eldest sons, Dan and Tom Henshaw, from her first marriage.
