Fátima Bosch Fernández of Mexico was crowned Miss Universe 2025 on Friday , capping a turbulent 74th staging of the beauty pageant in Bangkok marked by public confrontation and solidarity among contestants.
The 25-year-old’s victory came after she stood up to public criticism from a pageant host earlier in the competition. When Bosch was announced as the winner, large cheers and screams erupted from the audience, with Mexico flags waved by supporters.
Praveenar Singh, 29, of Thailand finished as first runner-up. Stephany Adriana Abasali Nasser, 25, of Venezuela placed third, followed by Ahtisa Manalo, 28, of the Philippines, and Olivia Yacé, 27, of Ivory Coast in fifth place.
More than 100 contestants were whittled down to five finalists through rounds that included a swimwear parade,
