SALT LAKE CITY — Police at the University of Utah are looking for a missing and endangered autistic man.

In a statement, the University of Utah Police Department states it is searching for 29-year-old August Beckwith. Police said Beckwith may be nonverbal and requires medication. Additionally, they said Beckwith “may be” suicidal and is not a danger to the public.

The Utah Department of Public Safety said Beckwith is typically clean-shaven but currently has a beard.

The DPS said Beckwith was last seen at 1:30 p.m. running down Wakara Way toward the University of Utah.

He is wearing a grey hoodie, black pants and black shoes.
