Newnan High School senior Davis Markham has completed Youth LEAD Georgia, a yearlong statewide leadership development program operated by the University of Georgia’s J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development.

Markham was one of 28 high school students selected from 28 counties to participate in the program’s 2025 cohort.

Youth LEAD Georgia, offered at no cost to participants through a $1.5 million pledge from Chick-fil-A, takes students across the state for leadership sessions, civic engagement opportunities and meetings with community and business leaders.

The cohort gathered five times throughout the year, including a weeklong bus tour and a statewide summer summit.
