Baltimore will host a Major League Soccer match for the first time ever next year, and it could feature one of the game’s greatest players.

D.C. United announced Thursday that it will host Inter Miami on March 7 at M&T Bank Stadium. Miami is captained by Lionel Messi, widely considered one of the best to ever play the sport.

Since Messi joined MLS in 2023, several clubs have tried to capitalize on his popularity by hosting his Miami side in NFL-sized venues. D.C. United’s home stadium, Audi Field, holds about 20,000 people, while M&T Bank Stadium has a capacity of more than 70,000.
