Consumers’ Checkbook has released its latest update on which Boston-area grocery stores offer the best prices and quality.

While ALDI topped the list for best prices and Roche Bros. led in quality, two other notable standouts will probably come as no surprise to Boston-area shoppers: Market Basket and Wegmans.

According to the report, Market Basket — despite its continued family power struggle over its ownership — stood out for its low prices and favorable ratings for quality.

Market Basket was one of the area’s top-scoring chains for the quality of its produce and meat, and its prices were 15% lower than the average at all the stores the surveyors shopped.
