Connor Barron knows a World Cup place with Scotland next summer depends on making his mark at Rangers this season.
The 23-year-old midfielder, whose only cap to date was in a substitute appearance against Liechtenstein last summer, was a late call-up by Steve Clarke for the final two Group C qualifiers.
He did not get any game time although he was as delighted as anyone when the Scots clinched their place in the finals for the first time since 1998 with a thrilling 4-2 win over Denmark at Hampden Park on Tuesday night.
The former Aberdeen player has been in and out of the Gers side this season first under Russell Martin and then his successor Danny Rohl.
