The holiday season is officially here — marking not only the busiest time of the year, but the most costly.
According to the National Retail Federation , an industry trade group, 2025 holiday spending is on track to top $1 trillion nationwide, shattering the record for highest holiday sales.
The NRF predicted that retail sales in November and December will grow between 3.7% and 4.2% over 2024 totals.
“That translates to total spending between $1.01 trillion and $1.02 trillion,” the trade group said in a statement.
“By comparison, last year’s holiday sales rose 4.3% over 2023 to reach $976.1 billion.”
