BLOOMINGTON — The more Kevin Ault has learned about soccer, through the lens of his son’s career, the more he’s come to understand it through the sport with which he’s most intimately familiar.
Ault excelled in basketball, first as a 2,000-point scorer Indiana Mr. Basketball with Warsaw, in 1996, and then as a four-year starter for what’s now Missouri State. From 1996-2000 — three years under Steve Alford , and one more with Barry Hinson — Ault helped the Bears to 85 wins and three Missouri Valley Conference championship game appearances.
