1Albany, NY – A bill introduced in the New York State Assembly would allow Olympic and Paralympic athletes training in New York to pay in-state tuition rates at public colleges and universities.
Assemblymember Robert Carroll’s proposal, known as Assembly Bill A761C, would make members of Team USA eligible for reduced tuition at both the State University of New York and the City University of New York systems.
The measure aims to attract elite athletes to New York training centers, including the Olympic facilities in Lake Placid, by aligning the state with others that already offer similar benefits.
