Cross-country trains have been cancelled this evening due to a "major fault" causing havoc on the railway line. ‌

Trains running from London to Scotland have been upset after a signalling fault blocked all lines. ‌

Passengers trying to travel from London Euston were hit with delays and cancellations on all lines on Friday. ‌

A "major fault with the signalling system" was discovered in Stafford. As a result, journeys to Glasgow and Edinburgh, as well as busy destinations such as Manchester, Liverpool and North Wales are all affected by the fault.

Avanti West Coast are telling passengers not to travel, as upheaval is expected until the end of the day. ‌
