A Baton Rouge man was sentenced to 30 years in prison this week for killing a man and wounding two teens near his apartment complex last year.
Kevonta Kemond Williams, 21, pleaded guilty to manslaughter during a hearing Wednesday inside the 19th Judicial District Court, records show. He’d been indicted on charges of second-degree murder, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and two counts of attempted murder in the March 2024 slaying of 18-year-old Ke’Von London.
State prosecutors dismissed the weapons and attempted murder charges in exchange for Williams’ guilty plea. Chief District Judge Donald Johnson imposed the 30-year sentence on the manslaughter conviction, according to court records.
