Investigators have determined that a teen girl found dead on a Carnival cruise ship died by asphyxiation resulting from an arm bar hold across the neck.
ABC News reported the shocking development on Friday, noting that 18-year-old Anna Kepner of Florida had two bruises on the side of her neck when she w as found on the Carnival Horizon on Nov. 8.
Kepner, described by family as a “happy, bubbly, straight-A student” was a cheerleader and gymnast who was set to graduate in May and had finished taking tests to join the military.
She was found under a bed, wrapped in a blanket and covered by life vests as the cruise ship traveled from Miami to the Caribbean
There were no signs of sexual assault and there did not appear to be drugs or alcohol in Kepner’s system, ABC News reported.
