LLOYD, N.Y. — A Highland man pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other charges after an indictment was unsealed Friday in Ulster County Court.

Officials declined to immediately release the indictment and additional information.

Mark Hayward Cannon, 32, was arrested by state police at Highland at 5:13 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, in connection with an incident reported on Monday, Nov. 17. He was arrested in the town of Poughkeepsie, according to the state police blotter.

Cannon was charged with the felonies of attempted murder, assault with intent to cause serious injury with a weapon (two counts) assault with intent to cause serious physical injury, and with obstruction of governmental administration, a misdemeanor, according to state poli
