CARLISLE - Based largely on medical evidence, a judge ordered a Carlisle woman to stand trial on third-degree murder charges for the 2023 death of her two-year-old daughter.
District Judge Jonathan Birbeck’s ruling came after a 90-minute hearing Friday centered on a pathologist’s findings that the child, Ivory Nunez, was essentially poisoned with fentanyl when she died Jan 10.
Annjalee Nunez, Ivory’s mother, had primary custody of her daughter at the time, and she was the only one with Ivory the night she died.
Dr. Wayne Ross testified that extremely high levels of fentanyl were found in Ivory’s blood during post-mortem toxicology screenings.
