GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A 39-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted in the 2022 killing of a 33-year-old woman.
According to the District Attorney's Office for the Gwinnet Judicial Circuit. A jury returned a guilty verdict in about 90 minutes in Edward Rodley Smith, Jr.'s trial.
Breanna Rogers was shot and killed on Oct. 7, 2022, just over three years ago. The DA's office said Rogers died during a domestic dispute. Prosecutors said the two were staying at a hotel and Rogers tried to get away from Smith.
The DA's office said he wrecked a car during the dispute before Rogers was shot and killed.
