In the previous four years, the Hamblen County School System has had a total of eight Reward Schools – schools recognized for high ratings on a variety of factors including achievement, growth, attendance, graduation rate and English Language Learners.
When the Tennessee Department of Education released the results for the 2024-2025 school year, Hamblen County Schools had nine reward schools, a full 50% percent of schools in the district.
“Am I thrilled we got nine reward schools? I am elated,” said Arnold Bunch, superintendent of Hamblen County Schools. “I cannot even tell you how proud I am.
“This is a significant accomplishment by our team.”
The nine schools are:
• Alpha Elementary
• Fairview-Marguerite Elementary
• Hillcrest Elementary
• John Hay Elementary
• Lincoln Heights E
