GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A Pitt County judge is giving the green light for a gas station to be built despite opposition from neighbors who live nearby.
Superior Judge Jeffrey Foster on Thursday upheld the city’s approval of a special use permit for RaceTrac to build the convenience store on North Memorial Drive.
The location is near Wellcome Middle School and backs up to the Brookhaven subdivision.
Residents appealed a Board of Adjustment approval of the development.
Many residents argued at the time that their testimony about traffic, safety, and community impact was brushed aside as the board gave more weight to the developer’s arguments.
Foster ruled that no constitutional violation occurred.
